Educational Relationship Workshop

This psychoeducational workshop is available for hosting organizations.

Based on 40 years of research by Dr. John Gottman, this workshop has been offered in Canada and all over the world with thousands of couples.

Couples will gain valuable skills to:
- restore their friendship
- engage in supportive conflictual conversations
- move away from gridlocked arguments
- build their dreams together.

Within each package available there are options for digital or physical copies of workshop materials including the couples workbook and take home guides.

The workshop contains a mixture of lectures, videos, demonstrations and couples activities. The activities directly connect with the lectures and demonstrations. There is no requirement to speak within the group nor share any personal information as this is not a therapy group. The people in the relationship only need to speak with each other.

Available in 4 hour, 6 hour, and 12 hour formats. Please contact me for details.

For couples who:
- are in long-term, committed relationships: dating, thinking about engagement, engaged, living together, or married
- are of any sexuality, gender, race, adult age, religion, socioeconomic background, or have or do not have children
- looking to provide a boost in their relationship and take what is “good” and move it to “great”
- want better conflict management skills
- want to strengthen their friendship
- are considering counselling but not quite sure if it will be a good fit for them or they are not quite ready
- both partners are 18+ years old
- special note for polyamorous relationships: while this workshop uses research gained from a two-person relationship, I believe that the information presented can be valuable for multi-partner relationships. Please feel free to contact me for any questions or concerns.

Not a good fit for:
- those that experience severe relationship distress
- one or both partners are significantly physically, emotionally, monetarily, psychologically, reproductively, or sexually abusive
- relationships that have significant manipulation from one or both partners
- one or both partners who have serious mental or emotional health concerns
- couples with domestic violence
- one or both partners with serious compulsive gambling, sexual acting out, and/or other disruptive behaviours
- single people

Note: If any of these issues are noted during the workshop, the couple will be asked to leave and a referral will be made to Adult Central Intake

I am a big fan of relationships. I believe romance is in the daily part of life. It is beautiful when partners are able to communicate comfortably with each other, dream big dreams together, and relationships are moving in a direction that supports everybody involved.

I am skilled at group facilitation and presenting. I bring a practical approach interlaced with humour and pop culture references.
